Dot NAME Domains

Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME universal extension is the only one intended for personal web pages only. These domain names can include personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are known by. At first, just third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to register john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already bought 3rd-level domain names remained functional.

Through our firm, you can reserve your .NAME domain for an interval between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to change the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer key from the present registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no specific terms on who can grab a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the goal behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
